Detailed Directions:

From Randle: Head south on State Route 131 (signed for Mount St. Helens) for 1 mile.

Turn onto Forest Road 23: Turn left onto Cispus Road (Forest Road 23).

Follow FR23: Continue on FR23, which will take you through the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and into the Mt. Adams Wilderness Area.

Accessing specific areas: Forest Road 23 connects with other forest roads (like FR2329, FR5603, FR56, and FR2160) that provide access to areas like Walupt Lake and the High Lakes area.

Return to US 12: If returning to Randle from the Mt. Adams area, you can eventually connect with US 12, heading west towards Packwood.

From Randle, WA travel south on State Route (SR) 131 until the road forks (1 mile). Stay to the right on State Route 131 which becomes Forest Road 25. Travel south on Forest Road 25 for 19 miles to Forest Road 99. Turn right on Forest Road 99 and drive 16 miles until it terminates at Windy Ridge.

Alert: Forest Roads in this area are winding and many have surface debris and steep drop-offs on either side. Always drive with caution, drive defensively, and expect wildlife. Motorcyclists should be especially careful.
